In 2018, after finishing his studies and a legal clerkship in Hamburg and Paris, a research stay at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in Freiburg i. Br., and several years working as a lawyer at a renowned white collar criminal law boutique in Düsseldorf, Dr. Mayeul Hiéramente returned to his hometown of Hamburg.

His primary focus is on advising board members and managing directors and organizing and structuring the defense of companies. He has extensive experience with large-scale proceedings and is very familiar with complex cases, the coordination of personal interests, and the framework conditions of modern criminal proceedings. In criminal law crisis situations, his resilience to stress and his foresighted approach to complex situations ensure optimal strategic support. Dr. Mayeul Hiéramente is particularly interested in cross-border cases and the associated exchange across different (legal) traditions and specialist disciplines. In addition to his expertise in mutual legal assistance and extradition law, he is also able to draw on a network of European and international experts for the defense of his clients.

Alongside his work as a legal advisor, Dr. Mayeul Hiéramente has been a lecturer in international criminal law for several years. He is the editor and author of a commentary on the German Trade Secrets Act published by Beck-Verlag and of the Juris PraxisReport Strafrecht. He regularly publishes articles on a wide range of topics relating to white collar criminal law. Furthermore, he is a member of the Criminal Law Committee of the German Federal Bar Association (Strauda) and the Committee on Security Law of the German Bar Association (DAV).

For his expertise in white collar and tax criminal law, Dr. Mayeul Hiéramente has received numerous awards (e.g. WirtschaftsWoche, Handelsblatt, Focus). Despite receiving fewer accolades as a midfielder for his Hamburg soccer team, to which he has remained loyal for more than 20 years, playing for the team has always been the perfect balance to his professional life.
